Squint

Squint or strabismus is a condition in which the eyes are not properly aligned with each other. It is one of the common problem seen in children and may appear later in stage as well due to various causes. It typically involves a lack of coordination between the extraocular muscles, which prevents bringing the gaze of each eye to the same point in space and thus hampers proper binocular vision, and which may adversely affect depth perception. It is important to have treatment of Squint in right time especially in children, as if left untreated it may lead to amblyopia, which is a condition when brain starts ignoring the images from the squint eye and leads to permanent weakening of vision.

At Mahajan Eye Centre (MEC), we offer utmost expertise in managing squint cases in all age group. Our squint specialists first evaluate the type of the squint and accordingly decide the line of treatment which may involve only prescribing necessary corrective glasses in some cases while the others may have to undergo corrective surgery.
