Neuro-Ophthalmology

Neuro-ophthalmology is the subspecialty of ophthalmology that deals with diseases related to the optic nerve and the brain and visual problems that are related to the nervous system. Generally, patients who experience unexplained vision loss are considered in neuro-ophthalmology.

At Mahajan Eye Centre (MEC), our specialists diagnose and treat disorders where communication between the eye and brain is affected leading to vision impairment or loss. The diagnosis making process in many cases involves prescribing certain specific neurological/ radiological test before initiating treatment. At MEC, we have latest Humphrey Field Analyzer (HFA-740i) for eliciting visual fields and determining neurological field loss pattern if it exists.
